Meet Our Team of Experts

Dr. Mustafa HeadshotTransparent

DR. ANILA MUSTAFA

Dr. Mustafa completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Reading Health System, in Pennsylvania.  It was early in her med school career when she discovered her love of Endocrinology. She found she could make a “drastic change in quality of life” of the patients, which sparked her passion for the field.  She then completed her Obesity Fellowship in Obesity Medicine and Nutrition Support at Geisinger Health System of Pennsylvania. This was followed by the completion of her Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Penn State Hershey. Dr. Mustafa was at UT Health Science Center as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Endocrinology Division. She provided assessments and care for patients with general Endocrine disorders, specifically Endocrine Neoplasia, involving tumors of the thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal glands. Dr. Mustafa made the choice to leave the UT Health System and follow her vision by opening the Diabetes & Metabolic Wellness Center. Dr. Mustafa is thrilled to be helping the New Braunfels community with her expertise in the Endocrinology, Metabolic, and Internal Medicine fields. When Dr. Mustafa isn’t making a difference in patients’ lives, you can find her at home with her husband and two sons. She enjoys making nutritious meals from scratch with the help of her family. Dr. Mustafa also enjoys the great Texas outdoors. She spends her free time hiking, riding bikes, swimming, and enjoying the beautiful scenery the Hill Country has to offer.
