- – Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- – Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school of Medical Assistants
- – EMR experience required
- – Bilingual preferred
Responsibilities and Duties
- – Take patients back to exam rooms
- – Obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and prepare patient charts within EMR
- – Retrieve medical records from hospitals and Specialist offices as necessary
- – Schedule follow-up appointments for patient once visit is completed
- – Call patients to inform about lab results and any other follow-up that may be required
- – Contact specialist offices and other facilities as needed
- – Contact vendors to order medical equipment
- – Contact pharmacies to order and refill prescriptions
- – Assist with answering the phone, scheduling patients, and other duties as needed
- – Work referrals, prior authorizations, and orders as needed
